Hands down, across time and ignoring "The Human Factor," Janette wins for me. Remember that time she went out with Nick while wearing a huge ass hat and long gloves? Not everyone has the gumption or ability to pull that off. She is pretty much always stunning in her attire.

Nick? Well, he's kind of all over the place for me. Some of the vests in season 2 are "okay" but some are awful. I can't get behind the vests. It's not just the vests, to be honest. I question a lot of Nick's fashion choices. But I suppose you have to give him credit for being creative at times and he is a creative type of person.

It has struck me how Nick dresses down on the job compared to Schanke. Schanke always comes to work in a suit and tie (not a fancy suit and tie, but certainly professional), but Nick, I don't think he ever wore a tie when he was working. Just to court in "False Witness" maybe?

Speaking of "False Witness," I was super fascinated by the court dress in that episode. I went down a whole internet rabbit hole about it last year. (In the U.S., only judges wear court robes, not attorneys.)

After his Rutger Hauer moment, in the show's present, LaCroix has what I can only call a standard uniform, a capsule wardrobe if you will. Simple, sharp, and all looks good on him. Black shirt, black pants, black jacket, DONE. (Except for one time I think he wore a red jacket?). He does have his little pieces of flare though, notably a silver ring, which we see him wearing across time, and sometimes the sword pin he wears at his neck in the present. The sword pin does look super cool.

Also, there was that time LaCroix LARPed as a doctor at the hospital in "Night in Question." And that WORKED for me. Not exactly a "fashion," but, you know, I'm allowed to appreciate.

Natalie, Cohen, Stonetree, and Reese we usually see in generic, standard business attire. Stonetree perhaps more notable of the captains for a more distinctive look than the other two captains, disheveled-like. So not a fashion winner, but still interesting.

Casually, Nat does sometimes wear leggings with a long sweater and flats, and I think that's a good look for her. She also gets to dress up in "Be My Valentine," but it's mostly business attire (when she's not actively performing an autopsy). But she's not winning any fashion awards either and usually not wearing anything interesting.

I don't know if I have a favorite flashback fashion. I'll have to think on that one some more since there are soooo many flashbacks. I'm certainly interested in others' favorites!
