FK Fic "Salt"

fkficfest. While it didn't make it to the final round, this prompt proposed by brightknightie nonetheless set the creative gears in motion for me:
It gave me an idea for a post-LK story. The premise is that Nick survives the events of “Last Knight." LaCroix withdraws from him but is never far away.
I've been tinkering with the story for a while. It's time to stop tinkering and post it. Here it is at AO3:
