FK Fic Fest Madness!

Anyone want to play a "March Madness" style game alongside the
fkficfest voting?
I have made a personal bracket template in Google Sheets (and as a PDF if you want to handwrite) for this purpose.
EDITED TO ADD: I have updated the personal brackets to include the rankings for the initial matches and have accounted for the prompts that are automatically advancing to the next round.
This will make it MUCH easier to complete your personal bracket (and perhaps to understand the game). I do not promise I didn't donk up the spreadsheet, but if I did, I will correct it as soon as possible.
Everything below has been edited to reflect the current version of the spreadsheet.
The goal of the game is to predict the entire outcome of the voting.
This is purely a casual side game for fun. There are no stakes. It has no bearing on the actual outcome of the voting.
How to play: before you look at any voting results, you fill out your personal bracket with your predictions on the outcome of the entire thing. Then you see how close you come to predicting the outcome, rooting for your predicted prompts along the way. It's meant to add a bit of fun and excitement to the rounds :-)
Whoever comes closest to predicting the outcome "wins." (I mean, wins what? Bragging rights lol. Nothing is at stake here.)
Here's an example of what the personal bracket looks like with a sample of the matchups revealed on March 12:

You fill out all the empty colored boxes with YOUR predictions.
brightknightie even included the total votes for each prompt, which may help inform your predictions.
Get the updated Google Sheet version HERE (it will prompt you to make a copy to your own Google Drive).
Get the updated PDF version HERE.
Have fun! Don't overthink it. It's just a silly side game :-) Happy to answer any questions.
p.s. I fully embrace that I may be the only one that's a big enough nerd to actually do this :-D
p.p.s. I'll put in a comment some background on "March Madness."

Date: 2024-03-09 06:47 pm (UTC)People fill out personal brackets for fun competing against friends and coworkers to see who can come closest to predicting the tournament outcome. Some people know about basketball and stats and use that to make their predictions, but many people just have random criteria to select their predicted winners ("I like that team's uniform better," "I tossed a coin," "My dad went to college there," and the like). The odds of perfect predictions? 1 in 9.2 quadrillion. It's just a game that adds some extra excitement to the tournament, even for people who don't follow basketball.

Looks right to me
