I’ve written a Nick/LaCroix fic set during “A More Permanent Hell.”
I'll be upfront: this is kind of a messed up story. I wrote this while reading fic for a much darker show where pretty much all relationships are intense and unhealthy. And it shows.
The asteroid scare of "A More Permanent Hell" gave LaCroix his very own existential crisis. In the episode, he dropped in at Nick's place, uninvited, to pour out his anxieties about the impending annihilation of most life on Earth (ancient vampires being the exception). This fic extends his visit into the day. It's the End of the World as We Know It (and I FeelFine Dysfunctional).
Dark, but no AO3 archive warnings apply. Tough to rate. I laughed out loud when I stumbled across a tag someone created on AO3 that says, "this rating system is just hard when you've got vampires doing vampire things." Ain't that the truth! The fic gets intense, but what is depicted is not really any stronger than "show level," and I think of the show as Teen and up. So I gave it a T rating. Not exactly violent. As for sex, well, not exactly that either, not in a human way. Freakin’ vampires. (We'll get more into that topic when I finally post about the episode “Crazy Love.")
So here we go. Nick/LaCroix. Kinda fucked up. Vampires doing vampire things to each other. Enjoy.

My solution was to leave it "Unrated" and "Choose Not To Warn" on AO3. A cop-out, really; but what can you do when the vampires simply reckon it to be unlife as usual?
